Yes it’s late, no I didn’t get any feedback on this version yet, yes I’m going to blame it all on Passover. I actually created an entirely new version last night but I decided it was too scary-looking which didn’t seem fitting, so I’m only posting this version.

Hi, Jacob! I really like this version. I enjoy the flower design a lot because I feel like it is touching on the topic of diversity that we talked about. I get a sense of different things surrounding something in common, which I think reflects well the different manifestations around Carnival that we were trying to evoke with this series. It is also very interesting to see it next to the image on the top and how the design seems to draw inspiration from the costumes. I also like how you were able to keep all the information that you had in the previous versions. Something I would suggest for this poster is trying to see what the effect of it would look like if the background was white or some lighter color instead of black because I feel like the dark background is currently a little too heavy on the lighter tone of the celebration. I also wonder if there are different ways you could make use of the flower design. Maybe having one or two more of them would emphasize the notion of diversity even more in this poster. Thank you so much for designing this!

  Hey, thanks for the notes. In terms of having more of the flower thing – that was definitely my original intention, but I really struggled to have a lot of the image without having ugly, misshapen white space. I’ll try to see what I can do though.
  I had a passing thought about the black being too heavy but didn’t do much about it. I can definitely try out what the inverse would look like.
